At this
stage, toddlers develop rapidly while taking advantage of their new and most
valuable motor skill, walking! They love this new experience of moving
around. Their child-proof environment allows them to walk fearlessly and
freely having plenty of opportunities to pull, push, press, climb and crawl.
Toddlers are now exposed to a different world of investigation and
discovery where learning experiences are more accessible and easier to
acquire. Their classroom is equipped with a variety of toys, such as
puzzles, books, pots and pans, stacking cups, etc. All in an approachable
learning center specially designed to encourage the child's curiosity and
exploration.
There are many physical and emotional changes at this age as well;
children are starting to become aware of their feelings and actions.
Teachers recognize and remain sensitive to all these changes, encouraging
toddler’s self-awareness and individuality.
Their routine is characterized by their involvement in
developmental age-appropriate activities suited to their needs. During
circle time they participate in storytelling and puppetry. They engage in
imaginative games, with music and dancing.
A complete record of their daily activities, routines, and needs
is provided daily.
