Children in this age group enjoy spending time with children of their own age. They’re eager to get involved in group activities. Their social skills are developing rapidly and are very important during this time. A structured educational program is offered to introduce them to basic concepts in language arts, math, science, and social studies. They are also given the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities in the different learning centers where they learn by doing.
Our project-based approach together with the creative curriculum addresses complex topics which encourage children to develop their thinking skills and self-confidence. Each project gives the students an opportunity to think in an abstract way through provocations and predictions. They are encouraged to communicate their observations, thoughts, and ideas through the use of language; both “written” and verbal.
Teachers' documentation is used to reflect on the children’s understanding and interpretation of each topic. “Home Learning” activities are assigned on a weekly basics to reinforce skills learned in school.
Regular conferences are scheduled with parents to discuss the child’s progress and concerns.
